Wilderness Hawaii. On the island of Maui, we trekked from the top of Mt. Haleakala (10,200 ft) through a massive cauldron at 7,000 ft, then down a old lava flow to the sea. On the island of Kauai we trekked the Na Pali coast in search of Pull the Magic Dragon. Check them out: The Sawtooth Wilderness (Idaho) and the adjoining wilderness areas form the largest designated wilderness area in the lower 48 states.
